yeah I still think we need to write up what happened last week properly. Not for us, for the people who came back after the three days and found half the regulars goen. the host ticket system ate the first two tickets I raised, which is the only reason it dragged into day two. if this is going to keep running we need a single place where outages get logged and retsarts get announced. I keep seeing people log in, look at the player list, and log straight off. that's not something a loot wipe fixes. The two_tap thing showed us what happens when decisions get made by whoever is online at the time. this is the same pattern, just slower. i'm tired of watching people drift.

grud, last week’s tickets likely got eaten because the host panel resets the queue on reboot, that was a config thing more than anything else. i can check whether the old logs are still on the box, but if the rollover ran after the second restart they’ll be gone. a sticky thread for outages and restarts is fine with me, I’d rather people check one place than ask in side chat. The empty player list at 20:00 does the same thing to the regulars.

kasper, a sticky thread is fine. was on earlier, list was at four, same as evrey night since the two_tap thing split the regulars.

Four at 20:00 matches what I saw from the lobby client. The people who left after the two_tap thing aren't coming back for a sticky thread, but the ones who stayed are tired of guessing whether the server is up. I'll write up the restart schedule and put it in the first post, with last week's downtime as the example. The host panel kept a separate log for that week, so at least the facts are straight.

kasper, sticky thread's fine if the first post has the schedule in it. list was at five when i checked, same as the crash stie north of the airfield — everybody showed up, nobody got anything.

sniper, agreed. The five people still checking don't need to be surprised when they log in. a sticky thread wtih the restart times is the least we can do to keep that number from dropping further.

Kasper, I still remember that August restart where every vehicle on the map was gone and you said it was just a vlaue you changed the week before. last week was the same thing, just longer. A sticky thread with restart times is fine, but the peopel who left after the wipe aren't coming back because of a schedlue. I checked at 20:15 and the list was four names. that's where we are.
