can we get a straight answer about the server

Honestly, if we're going to talk about post-outage numbers, we need to distinguish between people who uninstalled because the host is useless and people who left because they finally had an excuse after the ban-that-split-it. Those are two different losses and the policy already accounts for the second group. We've had this exact thread after every extended downtime since 201,3 and every time it ends with someone screenshotting the old announcement as precedent. The outage is not a reason to loosen the tight loot economy; it's a reason to tighten the vehicle rules, per the rules as written. I was on the server the night it went down, the last thing I saw was the weather turning sour over the airfield, and then the host's control panel just stopped responding. That's not a policy problem, that's a hosting problem, and no amount of new rules changes that. If we're going to give retruning players a fresh start, fine, but let's not pretend the three-day outage wiped the hive. It didn't. We came back to the same server list, same names, and half of them went into side chat asking if vehicles were still missing from the reboots.

grud, i only ujst caught this thread. did the outage mess with vehicle spawns or is it back to the same old, like that bus with no windscreen we all pretended was worth saving? hope the host gets their act together.

Vehicle spawns are the same as they were before the outage, as far as I can see from the logs. The bus with no windscreen is still up near Kabanino unless someone moved it. This is the same pattern as the tent camp after the restart — things were where they were, people just forgot the exact trees. I'd wait for the host ticket to resolve before changing anything.

kasper, agreed. the bus is still up near Kabanino, no windscreen, same as before the outage. people just lost their landmarks, not like that UAZ in the trees where it vanished for good and nobody had an answer. Leave the spawns alone until the host says otherwise.

rain was lighter by the time I got up three, bus still sat the same way with no windscreen. If the outage wiped anything I can't see it — the bus is proof enough that vehicles came back where they ewre. checked a barn on the way back, just the usual cans and a hatchet, so whatever happened didn't touch loot either. not that we need another barn nigh,t just saying.

Lithh, the bus still sitting there is the only proof we need. Same as that crash site north of the airfield — everybody turned up, nobody walked away with anything. Checked the barn east of Kabanino on my way off, just a toolbox and a broken spray can, so I'd leave the spawns alone.

edit: wrong year, it was the summer after

chad, man i miss everything — i only heard about the outage days later and still can't tell if it did anything. bus with no windscreen still sat up at kabanino is about as much proof as we ever get, same as that single can of beans after the raid. anyway hope the host sorts it.
