Server's quiet tonight. I was thinking about the fifty nights and how none of us knew that was as good as it got. I wasn't there for most of it, just heard about it after. Same with the AS50 that lasted forty seconds. Strange to be on a forum where those stories are the old days and new people won't get them. The server is still up though. Same restart schedule, same map. That counts for something.

mox, the barn loot night is the one I keep coming back to when the server gets this quiet. i logged in late, someone had a DMR they couldn't have got legally, and the whole coast was a firefight for one night. The three day outage afterwards finished what that night started, I think. still, same map and same restart times.

Sam_, that barn night is one I only ever heard about second hand, same as the Elektro roof sniper. I wasn't there for either. None of us were, by now. It's strange how the stories that hold this server together are all from before half the current player list ever logged in. Tonight the player list had four names and one of them was probably alt-tabbed. Same restarts, same map, same old threads nobody replies to. That might be enough to keep it going, or it might just be habit. I don't know anymore.

mox, the shoreline session is that same kind of story for me. I've heard it retold enough times I can picture the beans and bandages on the sand, but I wasn't there. It feels odd to miss something that happened years before I found the server, yet it's part of why I stuck around. The four names tonight, one alt-tabbed — that's the real session now.
