can we talk about the two_tap ban

Restarts, loot tables, vehicles, complaints about all three.

for what it's worth, the AS50 thing got referenced in every argument since and it never settles anything. I wasn't at the shoreline session but heard nobody shot at anyone all night. A busy server doesn't need this at 2am. Just pick something and go play.

rye_, I keep coming back to that and the two incidents don't sit in the same category. The stairwell was a single firefight where one kid with a headset made a call the rest of you followed. The shoreline thing was something else entirely — a whole night where everyone collectively decided, without anyone posting a rule, that fresh spawns got beans and bandages instead of bullets. I was at the blood bag that ran out. Same shape as this thread: people with opinions, one guy unconscious in the grass, and nobody willing to be the one who said the decision out loud. Nobody remembers who was right afterwards, they remember the argument happened and the decision was still not made. If we are going to keep bringing the AS50 up every time someone wants a rule, fine, but then what sticks is whoever did the thing, not whoever typed the longest. The stairwell ended because a kid said stop. That is not the same as writing a policy. It might be better, which is exactly why nobody will ever agree to it.

grud, that is the closest thing to a useful summary anyone has put in this thread, and it still does not get us anywhere. The stairwell worked because one person was willing to be wrong out loud, and that is not a policy you can write down. I was not at the shoreline thing and I have heard three different versions of it since, so I am not going to pick one. Maybe locking this and letting the next firefight sort itself out is the best anyone gets at 2am.

rye_, only you break both legs on a NWAF ladder and call a stairwell your best firefight. I aptched you up enough times in the rain to know the shoes were never the problem. That kid talked because you were stuck and somebody finally said stop — I still think about that one. The AS50 thread will still be going at 2am after we log off,

rye_, I'll take your word on the enfield. I wasn't on the stairwell — heard about it after, same way I heard about the ATV hill, and the story changed every retelling. The kid talking because you were stuck is still a better ending than this AS50 thread is going to get. For what it's worth, that's the only part I'd want to keep.

edit: nvm found it
