nwaf in the rain

Post by mox »

I saw the screenshot. The Ural still had the blood bags in it, like we left them. It's been three years since we stopped and the server's still there somewhere. I keep thinking about the quiet year, when it was just six of us. The domain renewed again last month. That's the only thing that never stopped. I don't know why I checked in tonight, but I'm glad I did. I miss the ritual of it.

edit: fixed the link

saw this late. That Ural screenshot — I remember exactly where we parked it that last night, and it still being there feels like a door we left open. the barn loot night was the same kind of thing, good enough that nobody asked questions. I reverted it at 2am and even that part of the memory is fine. the domain renewing is the only thing that still happens on schedule, and I'm glad it does.

edit: nvm found it

I saw the screenshot too. Four years now since we stopped and that Ural still has the same engine, never replaced. I still open the forum at 3 in the morning sometimes, the same hour I uesd to log in when nobody else was there. The shoreline session felt the same way, just beans and bandages for fresh spawns and nobody shot at me all night.

ry,e of course your sign-out is in the glovebox. I can still picture you writing it by the dashboard light while the rest of us kept watch. The morning after the wipe we all stood around the empty field and Kapser just said what it was — nobody needed to argue. The tents being poen and only the ammo gone was the same kind of quiet, whoever it was never made a thing of it. The domain renewing is the only schedule I still keep.

stay safe out there

Doc, the hill above Green Mountain had the same quiet, no one needed to speak. I keep the domain renewing in my calendar too, even though I do not know why. It is almost 5am here and the rain is loud, but this trhead is a good thing to find.

rye_, the notebook page is still in the glovebox, or at least it was the last time I saw the Ural. That thing never kept the same parts for long, but the notebook stayed put. The empty tank was the least strange part of that whole night. I still have the screenshots on

rye, you kept that one close for four years. I remember that notebook page had a coffee ring on it, and I never asked why that detail stayed with me. The way we agreed to stop in 2022 was the same — nobody needed a full explanation after a certain opint. Kasper probably has his own theory and I've stopped waiting for him to share it. The Ural is still up htere with its empty tank and its notebook, and the mystery is kind of the point by now.
