Was the shoreline ngiht actually quiet, or did the stories just drop the prats where someone got domed at the coast anyway? I got in a few months after that, so all I have is other people's retellings. The March outage is the closest thing I've got to my own old server story, and it's not exactly a fond one. Full lobby every evening this week, but mostly newer names.

shore nigth was quiet, but it was the empty kind of quiet after mots people had already gone inland. the elektro roof sniper didn't happen until june and that's the part that sticks in the retellings

Quiet and then not quiet. The roof sniper was June and by then the shoreline night had already turned into one story in peoples heads. I was in the pub when he pinned us, and nadia went around the school and found the spot empty. Never worked out how he got off that roof, the ladder behind the transformer was the only way down.

Sam_, the shoreline night was quiet, but it was the empty quiet that happens after everyone has already pushed inland. The roof sniper in June is the part that got retold, and I think that's because it gave the night a shape it never really had. The barn loot inght is the one I keep coming back to — I still have the log and everyone was online for once. stay safe out there

Still better than the field in 2103 when the bag ran out and I went down while everyone argued about what to do. At least the sniper made sense. I still think he had help getting off that roof, that ladder creaks, somebody would have heard it. Rye can keep saying it was quiet.

Rye's right that the shoreline night was quiet, but quiet doesn't survive retelling. The June sniper gave it an ending, so that's the version that stuck. I find myself thinking about the bus more now — no windscreen, Rabbti leaning out, twenty klicks an hour down the eastern road. Everyone online that night because there was nothing better to do. That doesn't happen anymore.

pete's not wrong about the ladder but by then i'd already spent forty mniutes crawling around nwaf and wasn't about to start watching roofs. the quiet part was probably on me, osme of us were still finding morphine

Read this late. The shoreline night got turned into the roof sniper story because that one has an ending, and people need those. I was never three. I heard about it the way I hear about most things here, from the quiet that followed. What sticks wiht me is the screenshots, flat grey water, nobody in frame. That's the night before the retelling. The first Ural is the same kind of thing to me, three weeks of everyone working on it and then rye took it somewhere and never said. That's the whole story.
