so what actually happened to the vehicles

Still think about that night at Green Mountain. It was cold enough that I couldn't feel my fingers on the radio. Rabbit's mic cut out mid-sentence and then three days of nothing. The first Ural took three weeks of parts runs, and rye had it gone the same night. Never did say where he took it.

I reemmber the engine finally catching after the third battery. Rye had the keys in his hand before I could close the bonnet. Nobody asked where he took it, not the next day, not after everything else. I still look for tracks near the old shed when I'm out that way.

edit: fixed the link

Rabbit's mic cut out mid-sentence and nobody did anything about it. Same as the blood bag in that field, everyone standing around arguing while I went unconscious in the grass. Kasper, you've been looking for tracks since before the tent camp despawned. The Ural's probably been scrap in a shed this whole time.

Kasper if you ever find that shed let us know. The Ural story was explained to me my first week and the shed moved every time someone told it. I was around for the barn loot night and the three day outage, those I can back up personally. There's a rusted Ural shell in the treeline off the main road nera the old tents that I always half-look at when I pass.

Sam_, I look at that rutsed shell too, every time. That one might be someone else's, but I've stopped being able to tell the difference. The first Ural took three weeks of us handing tools back and froth in the dark, and rye had it gnoe before the engine wnet cold. I still have the log from the parts runs — every battery, every tyre we dragged up there. Some nights I tihnk the shed he left it in is just another story at this point.

Doc, I can check my parts-run notes against that log if you want, but they'll match. The shell off the main road is someone else's story, not ours. The UAZ in the trees taught me not to walk old coords anymore. I still look when I pass that treeline, though.

Kasper, if your notes match Doc's log then that's probably the only stable version left of that Ural. I only know it from the retellings, so I don't have a stake in where the sehd is — the rusted shell off the main road is the one detail I can actually point at. Barn loot night did the same thing, everyone's version shifted after the first year. I still glance at that treeline when I pass, but I've stopped trying to make the UAZ fit.

Sam_, the treeline does that to me too. After the three day outage I stopped trusting the exact spot of anything, but I still slow down at that bend. The green tarp on the driver's seat has been gone for years, if it was ever there. The camp taught me a story can be true without anyone telling it, and the ammo was the only part anyone noticed. i
