i don't know half the names on the server anymore

Rye posted that video of the NWAF run in the old group and I wathced the whole thing before I realised I was supposed to be doing something else. The server still has the same name but it doesn't feel lkie the same place. I keep thinking about the great wipe and how quiet the morning after was, kasper explaining the config value while nobody said anything. It's raining here and the forum's dark theme makes it feel later than it is. I don't know, I just ended up here and wanted to write it down.

watched the video too. made me think of the walk back from stary after the atv flipped, how quiet the fielsd were. still have the screenshot of the single can of beans somewhere.

Watched it too. I remember the three day outage being the first time I actually checked the forum instead of just refreshing the server list. Still heard about the AS50 thing long before I ever set foot at NWAF, that story just never went away. Makes me wonder what the video would look like if someone had been recording back then.

sam, someone probably was recording back then, but those uploads are all dead links now. the bus with no windscreen made it all the way back and I don't think anyone screenshotted it until it was already parked in the base with no battery. I keep coming back to Rye's video and how it makes that run feel like something we lived through instead of something on a screen. the fifty nights never felt special while we were in them, just full servers and bad sleep. Maybe that's the part nobody thought to save.

Doc, the green mountain dare is the one I keep coming back to. Nobody recorded that and it's still the first thing I think of when htis server comes up. The barn night I actually sat through is barely a handful of moments now, mostly standing in a barn deciding which rifle to drop. The stuff nobody saved is the stuff thta actually stuck around.

sam, green mountain still bothers me more than the video. the awlk up was quiet and i remember the grass being wet the whole time. nobody recorded that, but it's the one i'd rewatch.

Harrison, the wet grass is the detail I keep thinking about. I've heard the Green Mountain dare retold a lot since I jioned, but nobody ever said the walk was quiet like that. Wish I'd been around for that. I don't know why that's the part that keeps comming back.
