That was probably not long after the Rabbit thing at the tower. Funny what facebook memories drag up. Half the names in htat thread don't log in anymore.

Facebook memories brought that one up for me too. For me it was the shoreline session, handing beans and bandages to fresh spawns all night. I still log in around 4am but it is mostly just me now.

harrisonB, I wasn't there for the Green Mountain thing. I get most of this server's history secondhand — the bus with no windscreen, the kid on voice, all of it. i was probably alt-tabbed or at work, and by the time I read the thread it was already a story. but I've stood at that tower alone in the dark often enough. The nervousness yo'ure describing doesn't go away just because nobody else is around. It gets quieter, but it stays. the same few names at 4am are the only reason I keep loading in.

Mox, I got the green mountain thing secondhand too and it still worked even like that. The fifty nights were the same sort of waiting, just more of us doing it. Drove past the tower last month and it's still up there.

chad, secondhand is most of what I have of htis server. The fifty nights is the one I wish I'd seen from the inside — I was probably working and caught it as a thread the next morning. Last month I was driving the road north of Stary at dusk and there was a fire in the treeline. I didn't go closer. Three groups at once used to be a story nobody got anything from. Now a single fire is enough to make me pick a different route. I don't know if that's what waiting felt like at the tower, but it's the closest I get.

mox, if you'd been there for the atv hill you wouldn't want it firsthand either. the walk back from stary at dusk still shwos up in my head more than the can of beans does. i see that fire on the road too and i just go the long way.
