Studio Wildcard dropped the latest Community Crunch for ARK: Survival Ascended on August 15, and the headline is the Boaratos coming to Astraeos on August 26. That’s the final update for the map, and I’ll admit I read the whole thing twice just to make sure I wasn’t misreading the part about a fiery boar that bleeds its enemies.
My Reaction
I’ve been waiting for Astraeos to get its send-off, and a hot-headed hog is exactly the kind of unhinged creature that makes ARK feel like ARK. The description says it’s built to go tusk-to-toe with the toughest creatures, and that’s the kind of bruiser I want on my side when a Giga decides my base looks like a chew toy. The part about trees ending up charred before they come crashing down made me laugh—of course it burns the forest down while farming wood. That’s so perfectly ARK.
But the real gut punch in this crunch is the transfer schedule for Genesis Ascended Part 1. September 4th is the date, and then those servers close on September 18th. Two weeks to move everything. I’ve been on the wrong side of a server shutdown before, and it’s never fun. At least they’re giving a window instead of pulling the plug overnight. Still, my stomach dropped a little reading it.
The Summary
The Boaratos arrives with the final Astraeos update on August 26. Studio Wildcard describes it as a fiery new bruiser that likes things up close and singed. It combines raw physical strength with fiery attacks and a knack for leaving enemies bleeding. They call it a must-have companion against formidable opponents. When there’s no fight, its smoldering talents help with resource gathering—trees get charred before they fall. And if you win a fight against one, the spoils are best enjoyed around the breakfast table with a side of eggs. I’m choosing to read that as bacon, and I’m not sorry.
The crunch also covers transfers for Genesis Ascended Part 1 Official servers. They open on September 4th, allowing players to move items, creatures, and characters onto the map without restriction. The timing aligns with the Genesis Part 1 Expires servers, giving players a couple of weeks to move everything before those servers close on September 18th. They close with a reminder to pack your Dodos in bubble wrap, which is the kind of dad joke I’ve come to expect from these posts.

Conquest Season 8 details are here too. It’s the large-scale PvP mode introduced by Snail Games, with increased rates so tribes can set up fast and rebuild after losses. The official Conquest servers are open for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. The season has 18 maps, all Genesis Part 1. Cluster A has 12 servers that had transfers enabled with Classic before they shut down. Cluster B has 6 servers with transfers only between those 6 for 2 weeks, and transfers between Cluster A and B opened on July 17th at 10 AM PT. Rates are 5x. Tek is enabled except for Tek Grenade, Tapejara Tek Saddle, Megalodon Tek Saddle, Rock Drake Tek Saddle, Mosasur Tek Saddle, and Tek Railgun. All 18 maps become Genesis Part 1.
There’s also a weekend bonus rate active until Monday, August 17. PVP/PVE gets 2x Harvesting, Taming, Experience, and Breeding. Small Tribes gets 4.5x Harvesting, Taming, and Experience plus 4x Breeding. ARKpocalypse gets 5x across the board.
The crunches always spotlight mods, and this one features a video with a list of custom content: Showcase Storage Skins, Forglar Part II, Kawaii Sweet Structures, Bathroom Clutter Evolved, Ocean Platforms Catalogue, Wyrm Cosmetic, TyrannosaurusGoose, Cliffans CC: Bionic Cosmo Cosmetic, Untitled, Bjarnheim, and Paleo ARK – Evolution | Apex Predators. The ASA Mod Jam 2026 finalist mods are live too, with 13 entries available in the in-game mod browser under #ASAModJam2026. Feedback from August 2 to 17 helps judges, and winners are announced August 21st.
Fan art and creator videos get their usual shoutouts. Syntac experiments with the Supercephalosornis Lab Station, and Chasun_ builds a starter base. The fan art gallery includes pieces like a stolen Wyvern Egg memory, a Wonderland piece, and a Bulbdog drawing.

The Reflection
For anyone on Astraeos, August 26 is the date to circle. The Boaratos is the last new creature for that map, and if it’s half as fun as it sounds, it’ll be a staple for boss fights and meat runs. The charred tree detail suggests it might have a niche in wood gathering, but I’m not holding my breath—ARK has a way of making utility creatures awkward. Still, a fiery boar that bleeds enemies is worth taming just for the spectacle.
The transfer window is the thing I’d watch closely. September 4th to 18th is a tight timeline if you have a lot of stuff scattered across servers. I’d start consolidating now, before the rush. And if you’re on Conquest, the 5x rates and Tek restrictions mean a different meta than standard PvP. No Tek Railgun changes a lot of base defense strategies. Cluster B’s two-week isolation is already over, so transfers are open now, but the map pool being all Genesis Part 1 is a bold choice. I’m curious how that plays out for variety.
Overall, this crunch delivers what players need: a new creature, a clear transfer schedule, and Conquest details. The Boaratos is the star, and I’m already planning my taming run. Just need to bring extra fire resistance and a lot of narcotics.
