STALCRAFT: X Reworks North Economy and Adds Ticketopia Event

EXBO just dropped a substantial update for STALCRAFT: X, and I’m still working through what it means for my farming loops. The official announcement covers the North economy rework, the Ticketopia event, and a bunch of other changes. It’s a lot to take in, but the economy part is what grabbed me first.

I’ve spent enough hours in the North to know the pain of a full inventory full of worthless junk. You clear an event, get a bunch of items, and half of them go straight to the trash. The devs actually put numbers on that: players didn’t claim nearly half of event rewards because they were low value and took up space. That’s not a small tweak; that’s a fundamental problem with the reward loop. If this rework makes every drop worth picking up, it changes how I play. I’m not going to pretend I wasn’t skeptical reading the patch notes, but the tables they provided are detailed enough that I’m willing to give it a shot.

What’s Actually Changing

The core of the update is the reward system rework for the Faction North. They’ve realigned it with Wild North rewards, made fillers take less space and be worth more, and split loot pools by location progression. The idea is that your inventory value relative to weight goes up. They used Mines as an example: clearing 100 events previously yielded items where just under half were extremely low value. Now, the value of awarded items increases so collecting each one is worthwhile. They published before-and-after tables for mutants, faction events, and caches. For mutants, loot went from 66 slots and 152 thousand rubles to 49 slots and 351 thousand. Faction events went from 89 slots and 263 thousand to 73 slots and 407 thousand. Caches without jackpot went from 51 slots and 44 thousand to 24 slots and 81 thousand. With jackpot, from 50 slots and 44 thousand to 27 slots and 109 thousand. Those are big jumps, and if they hold up in practice, the North just became a lot more lucrative.

They also changed item characteristics for a bunch of items. Strange crest stack size went from 2 to 7 and weight from 0.4 to 0.25. Mutant’s spleen, heart, replacement battery, expensive cigarettes, PDA with data, fighter tokens, failsafe, triac, resonator, thermistor, copper coil, transformer, solenoid—all got stack size and weight adjustments. Some prices changed too: PDA with data is now 10,000 rubles, fighter tokens 1,400. And they’re removing Fighter Tokens and PDA with Data from inventories, compensating 140 rubles per token and 5,000 per PDA. I had a few of those sitting around, so that’s a nice little payout.

There are new items in the Faction North loot pool: Antiseptic, Bezoar, Equipment fragments, Lymph. Southern locations now drop a different set of items, including pocket money, hair ball, small artifact fragment, cigarettes, broken claw, common artifact fragment, toilet paper, mutant’s tooth, large artifact fragment, lighter, mutant’s skin, huge artifact fragment, Rubik’s cube, mutant’s bone, filter, mutant’s intestines. The Faction North retains more expensive items like strange crest, mutant’s spleen, mutant’s heart, replacement battery, expensive cigarettes, PDA with data, and adds the new ones. They also said they’ll update the randomization of final rewards for event clearing in the near future, so you always get 100% of the base reward with a chance for more. That’s a good change because the current system sometimes gives unreasonably low rewards for difficult events.

Events and Other Additions

The Ticketopia event runs from October 14 to 28. You can get Act Tickets from PvE challenges or Coliseum challenges. There are 16 challenges total, 8 for each format. You can complete them in any combination: 8 PvE, 8 Coliseum, or 4 and 4. PvE challenges are only available in the North, Wild North, and Lyubech-3, not the peaceful South. Rewards don’t depend on location. PvE challenges are open-world activities not tied to direct competition—outposts, airdrops, and installations in the Wild North don’t count. Coliseum challenges include destroying enemy squads, capturing installations, activating rifts, and other tasks. The remaining challenges will be announced when the event begins. For each completed challenge, you get a small reward. Milestones give bigger rewards: 2 challenges get 100 Act Tickets, 4 get 150, 6 get the Veil style for Albatross Interceptor, and 8 get 250 Act Tickets. To claim the main prizes, you only need to complete any 8 out of 16 challenges, mixing formats freely.

The Electrostorm event has ended, and its styles can now be sold to Zen for season currency. There’s a new event called Working Man’s Cut on the NA server. It’s for North hard workers, and at Mines, Inflow, Black Detour, and Reflection, events yield 20% more income, signals and stashes appear 20% more frequently, and even light cargo is valued three times higher. Challenges can only be completed at those four locations, and completing them rewards anomalous serum and other valuable resources. The event is planned to run regularly, and player activity and feedback can influence that. I’m curious to see how this plays out—it’s a direct buff to those specific farming spots.

There’s also a new 1000 level style called Air Seller. The description says it’s a gun that reliably produces an air base, enough to subdue enemies without gunpowder. It coughs slightly, apparently, though the gunsmith denies it. That’s a fun bit of flavor. And there’s a new quest called Shock Wave. Gunfire near the base, industrial espionage, intrigues among big players, and a reference to Forge-11 when the sky began to fall. Sounds like a lore-heavy quest, which I always appreciate.

What This Means for Players

The economy rework is the big deal here. If the numbers they published are accurate, the North just became significantly more rewarding per inventory slot. That’s a direct response to player frustration, and it’s backed by analytics they shared—nearly half of event rewards unclaimed. That’s a damning stat, and they’re actually doing something about it. The compensation for Fighter Tokens and PDA with Data is a nice touch, though I wonder how many players had stockpiled. The new loot split by location also means southern farming is less cluttered with high-tier items, which should make progression feel more tangible. I’m a little wary about the Working Man’s Cut event—20% more income is good, but it’s NA only for now. If it goes well, maybe it comes to other servers. The Ticketopia event seems straightforward: do 8 challenges, get rewards. I like that you can mix PvE and Coliseum, so you’re not forced into a mode you hate. The new quest and style are gravy. Overall, this is a substantial update, not a routine hotfix. I’ll be logging in to see if the loot really feels better, and I’ll be watching for the final reward randomization update. If they deliver on that, the North might finally feel worth the grind.
