Once Human 3.0.7 Update Brings Animal Breeding, Custom Dye, and a Date to Circle

Starry Studio posted the Once Human 3.0.7 update notes on September 28, 2026, and I’m going to be honest with you: I skimmed the breeding feature and the dye list, and then I stopped dead at one sentence. “The next update will be on October 21, 2026, at 4:00 PM (PT). The all-new ocean survival scenario is about to officially launch.” That’s the thing I’ve been waiting to hear since the scenario was first teased, and now it has a date. Everything else in this patch is nice, but October 21 is the headline for anyone planning their next character.

I’m not saying the rest of it is filler. Animal targeted breeding is something the community has asked for since Youngling Huts went in, and being able to pick the parents instead of hoping the RNG gods smile on you is a genuine quality-of-life change. But let’s be real: this is a seasonal patch with some systems bolted on. The ocean scenario is the actual content drop. And now I know exactly how many weeks I have to finish whatever I’m doing in the current scenario before I start fresh on the water.

What’s actually in the 3.0.7 update

The patch went live after a two-hour maintenance window on September 28 at 4:00 PM PT. Maintenance rewards are Starchrom ×1000, Mitsuko’s Mark ×100, a Stardust Secret Crate·S14 (Epic), and a Dog Selection Crate that lets you pick one of three limited Deviations: Labrador, Blackback, or Doberman, all at Deviation Level and Stability Level 3. If you want a better dog, the event can get you one at Level 5.

The big new system is territory Animal Targeted Breeding. You interact with the Youngling Hut in your territory, choose the Targeted Breeding option, and manually select the parent animals. That’s it. No more praying that the two animals you put near each other decide to make the baby you actually want. The patch notes also cap Youngling Huts at five per territory, and they can’t be built in RVs or water territories in the upcoming Isles of Abyss scenario. That last part is a small detail, but it tells me the ocean scenario has its own rules for territory building, which makes sense if your base is floating.

Beastmasters get a buff: they can now summon three animals at once instead of one, and a single Beast Whistle commands all of them. Non-Beastmasters stay at one summon. I’ve played Beastmaster a bit, and managing one animal was already a handful. Three sounds chaotic in the best way, and I’m curious how the whistle command logic works when you’ve got a wolf, a bear, and whatever else all trying to follow the same order.

Custom Dye unlocks for 23 fashion sets. The full list is in the patch notes, but names like Twilight Glory, Shadowrunner, and Nirvana Darkfeather are in there. Character reshaping and hairstyle dyeing are now completely free—no more Chrysalis Tokens or Butterfly Dye. Those items get pulled from the shop, and existing ones convert to Colorful Badges. The gender-change item, Metamorphosis Token, drops to 300 Crystgin. If you bought any of those items in the three months before the update, you get a refund or price difference compensation automatically through in-game mail.

Two limited-time events run from September 29 to October 14. Golden Autumn Harvest gives you one Golden Leaf per day at 6:00 AM server time; collect enough and you can claim permanent weapon cosmetics and a Golden Autumn Deviation 5-5 Grade Selectable Gift Box. The box lets you choose from Labrador, Blackback, Doberman, Flame Essence – Golden Toad, Brave George, Rain Man – Youthful Heart, Whalepup, or Soul Summoner. The dogs are a limited-time return, so if you missed them before, this is your window. Frames of Wonder is a photo check-in event: daily photo tasks at designated locations earn Stardust Secret Crates, critter expressions, avatars, and other rewards. You can also visit Event Island to ride animals and get a limited recipe formula.

What I’m actually thinking about

October 21. That’s the date. The ocean survival scenario and the RaidZone ocean map launch then, and there’s a reservation event page already up with gifts for signing up. I haven’t seen any details about what the scenario actually plays like, but the name “Isles of Abyss” shows up in the Youngling Hut restrictions, which suggests a map of islands and open water. I’m already wondering how base building works on a boat or a small island, and whether the Beastmaster’s three summons will be useful or just a way to lose animals overboard.

The custom server changes are also worth a mention. The Server Host Incentive Event returns from September 30 to October 30, and hosts can earn bonus payouts based on their Engagement Score. The Custom Server Engagement Rewards event runs October 1 to 31, and they’ve cut the required playtime to claim all rewards down to 150 minutes. That’s a lot more reasonable than whatever it was before. There’s also a new share and quick enter feature: you can share a link or QR code to your custom server, and people clicking it launch the game and drop straight in.

I keep coming back to the timing. September 28 patch, two weeks of autumn events, then the big scenario drop on October 21. That’s a tight turnaround, and it means the current scenario has about three weeks left if you’re still grinding it. I’m not going to start any long-term projects I can’t finish. I’ll grab the free dog, maybe try targeted breeding once to see how the interface works, and then I’m saving my energy for the ocean. Because honestly, that’s what this patch is really about: a holding pattern with some nice freebies while we wait for the water.
